Street Surveys

Collecting data about existing street conditions, in order to identify the needs for improvement.

Several Community Boards manually collect data about existing street conditions. For example, information about storefronts, subway entrances, or street trees. This is a time consuming method, which requires walking through entire neighborhoods, manually recording data, and then transferring it to a digital map.

For a more efficient process, residents can help Boards gather data through online crowd sourcing or SMS from the street.
