Community Boards need to analyze data to identify trends and interests, to learn more about the local community they serve.

Beyond data collection, data analysis plays an important role as well. Analyzing the existing information allows Community Boards to identify patterns for future prioritization.

For example, Manhattan Community Board 11’s District Manager analyzes income data to demonstrate affordable housing needs in East Harlem. Manhattan Community Board 3’s District Manager analyzes 311 data to identify service issues’ trends in the Lower East Side.
