311 Data

Community Boards need 311 data for applications and complaints, but find it difficult to access.

311 data provides Community Boards with an overview of the state of municipal services in the neighborhood. This info can be used to develop the District Needs Statement, as well as ‘keeping an eye’ on local issues. Board staff already use 311 to place and check the status of issues, but there is wide variation in the use of 311 for analysis. Some Community Boards receive a summary spreadsheet each month, others do not. Using 311 data requires access to the raw data, and an understanding of working with it effectively.

Here are some examples of tools that can assist Boards in accessing and analyzing 311 data.
